Why Rock Music is Superior
Why Rock Music is Superior

15 of the top 25 best selling albums of all time are rock albums. It takes a lot of skill to create and perform live, and rock music and its sub-genres have dominated the music industry for multiple decades and is still incredibly popular today. People should listen to rock music because it is the most superior music genre.
Some statistics that help prove this point is that more than 50% of people who listened to music in the US listened to rock music in 2018. Also all of the top 25 best selling albums have sold over 18 million copies each, and the best selling debut album of all time is a rock album.
Furthermore, rock music takes a lot more talent to create and perform than most of today's music. One of the main reasons for this is because you have to work in a band with multiple other people while a majority of the music being released in recent years is made on a computer by one or two people. If you look at rap and hip hop specifically, you would find that most artists have very repetitive and simple lyrics while also using autotune, and most have producers that create the beats and melodies behind it.
Some people might say, “Music preference is subjective so you can't say that one genre is better then all others.” But if you take statistics, and the fact that it takes a lot more skill to create and perform than most of today's music, you would find that it is objectively better.
In conclusion, rock music is superior to any other genre because it's still popular even though most of it came out decades ago, and it takes immensely more talent, time, and effort to create than most music in other genres made today.
